IPAD TEXTBOOKS
Many publishers are planning to release versions of textbooks that can be used specifically on the iPad, but the best way to currently read textbooks on your iPad is through the Kindle app. Note that you do NOT need to own a Kindle in order to read Kindle books on the iPad. (If you do also own a Kindle, you will have additional options like syncing your titles, etc.)
Reading kindle books on the ipad

Install the Kindle app on your iPad by visiting Apple's app store.

If you do not already have an account with amazon.com, you will need create an account with them and register an e-mail address. (If you live outside the United States, please visit here for information on reading Kindle books on the iPad device.)

When the Kindle app is first launched, enter your Amazon e-mail address (and password) and click "Register" to begin.

You are ready to download textbooks directly to your iPad. Books can be purchased via the Kindle app or through the amazon.com website. Click on the Kindle textbooks tab above in order to find information about available textbook titles.
